Tom came to Solutions Center at a very difficult point in his life. Although Tom had a Master's Degree, his alcoholism had taken all of his successes – his family, his home, and his job. Tom was in need of housing, food, guidance, and emotional support. The case manager assisted Tom in preparing for interview questions because in the past Tom had been passed over for many jobs when employers wondered why Tom would take entry level jobs when he had once been a high-powered executive. Tom found support from other men in recovery also staying at the shelter. The transitional help that Solutions Center provided facilitated Tom getting a job, an apartment of his own, and the right systems in place to start his life over again.
